Dale Clayton is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and attended Kent State University from 1967 to 1971 graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He taught graphic arts and photography at a local high school and coached wrestling. His individualized teaching techniques helped students at all levels succeed at their endeavors. He started his real estate career in 1973 when he started buying and selling bank acquired properties. That year, he earned 5 times more in real estate than what he earned teaching and coaching (mostly during that summer). He continued to buy and sell real estate during breaks from teaching until 1978.

Dale moved to Phoenix in 1978 where he taught and coached in the Glendale Union School District. Real estate opportunities were very abundant in Phoenix so Dale acquired his general contractor's license in 1979. He did some developing, remodeling and construction of new homes. He also had control of his own real estate brokerage which bought and sold real estate for the construction company. To date, Dale still has his residential general contractor's license and when he finds the opportunity, he builds homes for himself with the intent to sell.

In 1986 Dale earned his real estate sales license and began representing buyers and sellers with Realty Executives. In 1988 he was inducted into the Phoenix Board of REALTORS® Presidents Roundtable (at that time, the top 30 highest paid REALTORS® in the Phoenix Board) and after 5 consecutive years with that honor, he was granted life membership. In 1994 Dale received his GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute) a national designation. Then in 1995 he was inducted into the “Who's Who in American Real Estate”. In 1997 he received his CRS designation (Certified Residential Specialist) a national certification held by the top real estate agents in the United States and his Associate Broker License. In 2003 Dale started developing a real estate training, mentoring, and coaching program with the help of the Realty Executives management staff. His intent was to return to his passion of teaching and coaching, while giving back to the real estate community by helping other people become more successful.

Dale actively gives back to his community as an active member of the Phoenix Elks Club Lodge 335, Verde Vaqueros (major sponsor for the Boys & Girls Club of Scottsdale), Roosevelt Rough Riders (major sponsor for the Boy Scouts of America Grand Canyon Council), and the Maricopa County Sheriffs' Scottsdale Mounted Search and Rescue Posse.
